The sitting room walls were in poor condition and we removed many barrow-loads of loose rubble. The finished result below was worth the effort!





 

 

 

 

 

 


 


 


The original crumbling fireplace being rebuilt and rendered. The almost-finished fireplace below is a great improvement.

 
 
This roughly built brick dividing wall had to be rendered. It was given a rustic finish and painted with distemper containing a powder pigment (below).

 
 
The moment, three years ago, when we almost despaired! Fortunately we were able to retain original features like the loading hatch door through which sacks of grapes were once tipped.
